Gosh, reading back over all this... I used to be so funny.  At least I always thought so.  Now my days are spent chasing baby, pulling electrical cords, dog hair, hair elastics and other small objects out of a snappy little mouth, cleaning messes, planning menus and trying to figure out how I'm going to be a mommy AND go back to work in just a few short months.

Reading over my old blog I'm realizing that I've missed a certain side of me that has gone dormant while I've been busy being a grown-up.  A goofy side, a side that used to be able to laugh at myself a little more.  Let things go a little more...  I miss that dork.

Maybe I'm taking myself too seriously.
Taking THIS all too seriously.  This grown-up thing, this wife thing.. this mom thing.
Something to think about.

new things

So many new things, wow.

First of all I just want to share how happy I am right now, so excited to start planning the rest of my life with the man of my dreams.
But planning a wedding isn't all we have going on right now.
For those of you who don't know our short term plans, in April we are both quitting our jobs, packing up and going to Europe for a couple of months. We're going to camp our way from France down to Spain and Portugal, along the French and Italian riviera into Italy, ferry across to Greece, then hopefully up north into the Czech Republic before heading back to Paris. We have our plane tickets booked, are in the process of getting a rental car all sorted out, and are about halfway through all our research and planning. I honestly cannot wait. For being unemployed for a little while, for an amazing adventure abroad and for some time to just relax and enjoy being engaged to Mark.
What this means however is that we need to have our wedding almost completely planned before we leave.. in 58 days..
In 58 days I also need to pack up all my earthly belongings and suspend them in storage.
Is this even possible? We have the big wedding budget meeting tonight with the parents.. after that I can almost promise you my life is going to be nuts.

When we get back in June, we will both be looking for new jobs. It's time to get my HR/IR career off the ground, so I will probably be moving to a bigger city like Calgary or Edmonton. Mark will be looking for something in environmental conservation and is a little more limited than I am with possible career options. We need to find jobs for both of us in the same area and we're a little worried about if that is going to be easy enough to do. But there is absolutely nothing we can do about it for now and will just have to face that problem if it arises. At that point we'll just be trying to get ourselves settled somewhere and ready to get married in 3 months.

Maybe we're insane to try all this in such a short period of time, but when we logically consider it.. it really makes sense to us and for us.

So that's a little heads up on what we'll be looking at lately. We really want to thank everyone for all their support and excitement for us, it's been really encouraging for us because we know how stressful this time is going to be for us.

Lemon Zinger

I've been really enjoying my green tea for the last month or so, a healthy subsitute for the excess coffee I'm use to drinking.

I've also been a little short of breath for the last month or so.

On a hunch, my trusty friend google and I discovered today that green tea can aggravate asthma.

So do I drink my tea and use my inhaler and hope I get used to it (kind of like I can get used to cats when I'm around them often), or do I go back to coffee?? I'm not a big fan of black teas, and herbals don't have any caffeine in them whatsoever.

Oh woe!

hi and lo

So I don't know how to blog anymore. Does anyone even read this thing?
Recap of the last month or so.

Hi-light: Christmas - Good times spent with family, friends and Mark, a beautiful custom hand-crafted easel (pictures coming), FOOD, more Taboo than I've played in the last 3 years.

Hi-light: Chad and Sharon's wedding

Hi-light: New Years Eve, might even be the first New Years party that wasn't a big gong show of some kind. Hilarious good times.

Lo-light: Back to work on the 2nd.

Hi-light: Weaning myself of my caffeine dependence

Hi-light: Snowboarding trips in December, boarding with someone better than you really forces you to push harder. By the end of the season it's my goal to be at least as good as Mark.

Lo-light: Being attacked by a flying monkey skiing freak catapulting out of the treeline above me.

Hi-light: House/dog sitting for the parent's while they are on their cruise, can anyone say hot tub?

Lo-light: Dog hair

Hi-light: 2007 is going to be a great year!

Lo-light: I've just embarked on a bit of a klutzy streak.. hopefully it's short-lived

Hi-light: Beautiful roses from Mark

Lo-light: They won't last forever

Hi-light: City & Colour concert in Calgary last night. PHENOMENAL!

Lo-light: Tired today

Hi-light: Ice-cream and backgammon date tonight

Lo-light: My car is messed up, there is something wrong with my dashboard panel.. the thermometer has gone around the circle and is now pointing straight down and my speedometer kind of does whatever it wants.. it claimed I was going 60 km/hr on the highway last night.. Learning to drive by RPM's is annoying.

Hi-light: It's not windy today!! (yet)

Dynamic Bass Boost Stereo Speakers

That's what I have hooked up to my computer here at work so I can achieve the most enjoyment out the music I play repetitively all day long. They are made by KOSS.. who the heck is KOSS?? Marketing is funny.. "dynamic bass boost".. sounds so impressive. The truth is, they suck a lot. I stole them from my mom who had them hooked up to a discman during the late '90s. They have an on/off bass boost button.. but all that does is turn the volume knob on and off. Go KOSS. Quality product.

It's a Tuesday. Which means tomorrow is Snack Wednesday for all us fine folk here at Agri-Tech.

I had a dream the other night that I was still a student, trying to figure out my final exam schedule. But I was freaked out because there was one class I hadn't been to all semester. I'm sure I would have done really well on that exam had my dream progressed, but I think it morphed into something else about a fish.

I finally made the big jump to beta blogger.. apparently I can now add labels to my post.. like scooters, vacation, fall. Why thank you beta blogger for the inspiration, I will now add all three labels to my post. I think it's very clear that this post is actually all about scooters, vacation and fall.

20 days until Christmas.. haven't started my shopping yet.

I love coffee a lot, I also love most of the mugs at starbucks right now.. very cute.
