Lemon Zinger

I've been really enjoying my green tea for the last month or so, a healthy subsitute for the excess coffee I'm use to drinking.

I've also been a little short of breath for the last month or so.

On a hunch, my trusty friend google and I discovered today that green tea can aggravate asthma.

So do I drink my tea and use my inhaler and hope I get used to it (kind of like I can get used to cats when I'm around them often), or do I go back to coffee?? I'm not a big fan of black teas, and herbals don't have any caffeine in them whatsoever.

Oh woe!

I can't believe that you, the coffee queen, is going off the coffee. What is this world coming to? But if the green tea is causing asthma, then I don't think it's a great substitute. Maybe try it for a while and if you don't feel your shortness of breath getting any less, scrap it.

PS - I think you are pretty fantastic too my dear :)

Do you put anything in your coffee? Cause if you don't you can do what Jeff does and add a little cream once in a while to change it up. Its suppose to be better for you but I don't know I like black coffee myself. And why are you not drinking coffee?

Ha ha Jan,

14 long stem (not boring!) red roses! They are so beautiful, they're already 4 days old and not wilting at all.

Generally I'm a straight black coffee person, every now and then I'll make myself a 'desert' coffee with cream or splenda.. but I get withdrawl headaches if I don't drink coffee which made me think I might be a little too dependent on the stuff. So anyway, I'm just cutting back a lot, not going off it though. I'm not willing to go that far.

wow it has come to this
backsliding eh?
been seduced by the green tea minions?
wonder why you are having withdrawal headaches?
YOU'RE NOT DRINKING ENOUGH COFFEE! :)
listen for a full diagnosis you will need to visit the coffee doctor. My rates are reasonable but it is crucial that you bring someone(s) with you as the diagnosis is usually traumatic.
Here's the deal:
I will make you a batch of my Morrocan coffee and you will melt right back into your old habits once again - tee hee!

ps. Good to see you a little more aggressive in the blog world - now if we can just keep Jan from inserting random comments about flowers we will be just fine...

I say embrace the coffee. Just do it with moderation. It is so delicious and just what everyone needs to get rid of that pesky headache that arrives because of our pathetic dependency.

Yes, never completely give up the coffee. It's much too enjoyable.

Oh Jan, maybe a little insecure by the sounds of it ;). Ok Dale!, next week we'll come over for to pick up the pan and have coffee?

Glad you like the roses babe. I love you!

Off coffee? Wow, you're far braver than I.

Though when I first moved, I didn't have a coffee maker, but I had black tea, which was a great substitute ... espcially Irish breakfast. Maybe the black stuff won't bug your asthma.

I can't believe Chryslyn hasn't hooked you up with the yerba mate yet...it has caffeine in it, but a more natural kind (but also different than green tea)--one that your body can metabolize more easily. Give it a shot...a long shot. I had to let it grow on me. But now I love it.
